  • 10 Bad Days Scriptures to Get You Through Bad Days

Are you having bad days? I bet you are or once were. Truth is, I also have bad days. Who doesn’t?

Sometimes we worry, sometimes the office gets toxic, sometimes parenting becomes stressful, sometimes working becomes draining, sometimes rest seems far fetched, sometimes we are faced with stumbling blocks, sometimes memories of that trauma haunts you again, sometimes something triggers the pain of losing that person, and sometimes even adulthood alone stresses the hell out of you.

And the crazy part is that, on those bad days we lash out, transfer aggression, become quiet, overthink, talk about it, call a therapist, get treated but we seldom seek Gods words.

His scriptures have been designed to be there for us on those bad days when all we can see is the evil and ugly. On those dark days his words have been written to lighten our lives. On those bad days his words are there to reassure us that everything is not over.

That there is more. That its okay to have bad days but its not the end. That bad days and challenges are part of the ball game but good days and winning is guaranted.

His words have brought comfort and peace to me and so many other people round the globe.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
    Hebrews 4:12

So when you do go through those unexpected bad days, remember his word, lean on these scriptures, meditate on them and let the life in these words bring you solace. They’ve been my guide & source of peace on those troubling days and I believe that its going to be the same for you.

  • 3 Dire Consequences Of Ignoring The Holy Spirit

The consequences of ignoring the holy spirit are dire and detrimental to your existence as a beautiful lady & sophisticated gentleman.

    Ignoring the holy spirit

The past couple of weeks have been very trying and challenging in almost every area of my life aside from one. winks First my mom was ill, something so little that we even took lightly ended up been so drastic, and would have been destructive if I had kept ignoring the holy spirit. Now as a family we are as fresh as a newly baked cake and equally happy.

I’ve seen myself make spur of the moment decisions this week. You know those kind of unexpected events that drive you to make decisions you never saw coming. This particular one made me withdrawn, and dampened my resolve to an extent that I had no idea on the way forward, like a plot twist, the only way forward was scary and daunting until I heard his voice.

“Make that call.” I heard and ignored.

While focusing on my work, I heard his voice again “this is the best time to make that call Chika.” At this point I checked the time and behold, I understood why the holy spirit was leading me to do that.

Quickly I made the call and after I did, the restlessness I felt was gone. I was no longer weak. I had a new understanding and revelation on what that situation was about. The fulfillment I got was next to none and I had an overwhelming peace wash over me. That is what obeying the holy spirit does.

I’m sure you’ve all read this scripture but I’ll still share it. John 14:26

“The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you.”
    John 14:26 MSG

The holy spirit makes everything plain. He simplifies the confusing. He eases pain, and comforts the burdened. Ignoring his leading comes at a cost. If I had kept ignoring the holy spirit’s leading, I wonder what health condition my mom would have been now. If I had not listened and allowed myself get distracted, I would have missed something that was his plan for me all along.

Herald shared a live story of how the holy spirit led him away from the woman he wanted to get married to, that had and was still in bed with every other man in school then, unknown to him.

And I still wonder the consequences he would have faced if he didn’t receive clarity from God as an answer to his prayers.

The main reason why you are ignoring the holy spirit is because you are validating why the holy spirit should do what you want instead of listening to what he wants for you.

“It is not your place to direct the holy spirit. It is your only place to listen and obey his words.”

And mehn! Obedience is hard when the picture you’ve created seems right. Try throwing it aside and open your eyes to see the perfect picture he has for you.

What Are The 3 Dire Consequences Of Ignoring The Holy Spirit?

    1. Destruction

You destroy your life by ignoring the holy spirit. The funny thing about destruction is that, it doesn’t drop like a bomb. No. It creeps in like a termite and explode in your face. When he says do this this way and you do it your own way, gradually you see everything go sour.

All the efforts, time, money, attention etc all gone. The perfect plans he has for you hangs in the balance because you’re treading on a different path.

    1. Spiritual coldness

The minute you start ignoring the holy spirit your spiritual life begins to get cold. What is the use of taking his time to tell you things when you won’t listen? The holy spirit craves attention, enjoys friendship and rejoices with a listening ear. And when he no longer gets that, he becomes silent. He doesn’t leave. No.

He stays quiet waiting for you to call on him. To invite him. To embrace his wisdom & friendship. He stays there because he has chosen to be your friend for life, all that’s left is for you to do the same.

    1. Regret

Once you start saying “if I had known…,” “I wish I followed my mind,” “why didn’t I listen to…,” that is clearly a consequence of ignoring the holy spirit; Regret. The feeling of regret is a subtle feeling that speaks massively to the mind and negatively as well. It ruins your mental balance and drives you insane.

You regret why you didn’t listen. You count your loses and blame yourself for being stupid and foolish. You start feeling guilty for been the reason why everything is a mess. Depression steps in, your mental balance worsens and slowly your life fades.

These consequences are real and I would be lying if I said I haven’t experienced all. How I found my faith back, retreated from been a depressed & bitter person and began living a life void of regret is still a miracle. One I am eternally grateful for.

I truly hope that going forward, the words written here would push you to prioritize his leading, direction and his voice when he speaks. Even in the little things. Cuz ignoring the holy spirit comes at a huge price.

Say this prayer with me quickly – “Dear God, let my wants and desires for my life be aligned with your plans and desires for my life. Amen.

  • 3 Effective Ways To Find Peace Of Mind And Happiness

Today its Peace of mind and happiness. Last week we talked about unexpectations then a question popped in my head, would I be at peace when something unexpected happen? Nah. I doubt that. Truth is my mind would be in constant turmoil thinking of how to handle the blow and how to face this new pursuit.

find peace of mind and happiness
Peace of mind and happiness by Moses Ameachi

When James was informed that his shop was engulfed in flames. He was thrown off balance. Loosing everything, the sweat, blood, money was all gone. Everything was lost. He went from thinking of how to keep growing in business to how he would start afresh all over again. His peace was denied. How would he find peace of mind again and happiness?

The same day John went on one knee and proposed to his girl friend of three years. And beautifully she said “yes I will.” It was the most heartwarming feeling ever to those watching and such a big blessing & celebration for John whose heart couldn’t stop beating. laughs But later that night all the happiness disappeared.

The sweet memory was gone now replaced with the thought of having a new responsibility. What if he failed at his marriage? What if he makes his soon to be wife unhappy? Would forever be theirs or would their marriage fade along the line? Would he be a terrible father like his own dad? He tossed and turned all through the night. As happy as he thought he was, somewhere alone he fought. He was faced with a battle that denied his peace of mind. How would he find his peace of mind and happiness again?

Unlearn that the only battle we face is a physical battle.

The biggest battle we face is that of the mind. We first wage war in our mind before we throw physical punches. Someone asked me yesterday “what is happiness to you?” And I thought, Peace. Peace. When I was the happiest was when I had peace. Sometimes I laughed the loudest but I was not happy. Sometimes I made silly dance videos but i wasn’t happy at all. Other times I played so hard yet I knew I was deeply sad. So happiness is not when you laugh the most, not when you eat your favorite food or talk to your favorite person but its when you are at peace. When your mind is as free as a bird. When you feel like flying.

Does this mean every time I drank my favorite drink; caprisonne or spoke to that special someone that makes me smile that I wasn’t happy? No. It only means that I can be happy at intervals. That there are little things that would brighten our world and our faces even when our mind is not at peace. Little deposits of goodness that constitutes our happiness and lighten our heart but doesn’t give us the win we desire. Those deposits are what keeps us going when the storm rages. Peace of mind and happiness is like mother and child. Peace births happiness.

A mother is happy once she hears the news of a child growing in her, and as this child grows in her she is both happy and sad because of the restlessness and experience that come with pregnancy and childbirth. Yet, she is only a mother once the child is born. That is her win. That is the cue that the battle is won.

Mandy Kloppers shared 40 whopping ways to find inner peace and I must say, that tip she shared was helpful and would give you relief.

But as someone that would always tell you the bitter truth whether you like it or not or want to hear it or not, do everything on that list and you still won’t find peace. You would not even remember that anything like affirmations exists or breathing therapy or books or yoga. Who does yoga in this part of the world? Books fire! laughs

So are you ready for me to show you how to find peace of mind and happiness?

3 effective ways to find peace of mind and happiness

    Acceptance.

Acceptance is accepting that this thing is gone or that this situation has happened. Henrik Edberg said “let go of things you cannot control. Acceptance is accepting that some things are beyond your control and that there’s so little you can do. Acceptance is also acknowledging what needs immediate attention. As much as there are things you can’t change there are also some difficult situations where you’d have to step in and act.

Acceptance is the first step to gaining peace of mind and happiness. A lot of people stay in denial for a long time, due to fear, stress or weakness. But as soon as they mentally accept the deed then they’d see a light so bright that it brightens their lives.

    God.

God is the giver of peace. I cannot over emphasize the importance of a relationship with God. If you’re not communicating with God then you’re missing the most important relationship ever.

In fact you’re missing life itself. His very nature is peace. His spirit comforts us and takes away our burden. Start seeing him as a friend, talk to him as a friend, pour out your heart and mind to him and watch him renew your mind. Watch him operate on your mind. Your peace would be endless. Everlasting. Still confused on how to communicate intimately with God? Read a guide here on Christian intimacy with the Holy spirit.

    Little things.

Regardless of whether you are void of peace of mind and happiness, there are little things that excites you and put smiles on your face. Indulge in those things. It may be talking to a friend, traveling, watching football or movies, driving, partying, exercising etc. For me watching a movie takes my mind off the chaos.

When you accept that there are some things you don’t have the power to control, bring it at the foot of Christ, talk to God about it and as you find happiness in little things you love, gradually you’d have your peace of mind and happiness restored back to you.

    A win.
