    1) Love in the neighborhood

Usually i shop with an old woman right at my street. But that day she wasn’t at my store so i shopped at a store beside hers and that was when i saw him for the first time. It was his mothers store but he was the one attending to customers that day. He attended to me. I liked him the moment i saw him. It was awkward and maybe weird but i did like everything about him when i met him. My thought then was “So a beautiful cute guy was here all along and i never knew even though i always bought things around there”. It was an amazing feeling. For him that was not his first time seeing me. He said he always saw me when i passed and admired me. But that was the first moment for us. After that first meeting all i wanted was see him and same for him too. I wanted to be the one to buy groceries for the house, just to glance at him or chat with him for few minutes. He never passed an opportunity to attend to me and have my attention all to himself. We called each other frequently from then and spent every spare time we had together till it blossomed into a love that could never fade. Its been ten years and we’re still buzzing. He’s still my first love, my first boyfriend, my husband and my most handsome man on the planet.

    2) Down the stage

It started on that mild February after singing one of my songs on stage. It was a ministration i long prepared for and the hall was buzzing with applauds. When i climbed down, that was when he approached me
“That was beautiful. I enjoyed your music” he said
“Thank you” i replied in gratitude.
“Can i get the link to your songs” he asked praying she would agree.
“Alright”. I agreed and we exchanged numbers. That was it period. Nothing more. And he always liked me.

In May he came with the intention of marriage and my answer was a big fat ‘No, I’m not interested’. I rejected him because at that time i didn’t think he was the one. I had a million reason not to be with him. My mind was not fixed on him, and he had an appearance that was not flowing with what i wanted and mehn, i hardly knew the guy and all of a sudden marriage. Hell No! Months later Oga came back, still serious about me, still wanting to know me and give him my attention and still hoping that I’ll see the love he has for me. So after a long time i decided to give him a chance and that was the best decision i had ever made. Our first date was a movie night and seemed like we had known each other for ages. We instantly got connected. There was no dull moment with him. And over time i couldn’t get enough of him. That was when i knew that “You can never know until you truly know”. Our friendship was contagious because it was something we gradually built. It was the very foundation of our relationship aside God. I had always wanted and prayed for a simple guy i could always relate with and not be scared of. A man that would support my vision and ambitions. And Gods will for me. And i got that man. We were true friends and it was that friendship that blossomed into Love, and has kept us till now. He is my husband and he is everything i ever asked for and more.

    3) At the pool

As a second level student in school, i went to the pool to cool of and swim hard. That was where i met him. He also came to do the same thing and he was a year ahead of me in school. He had a crush on me so he approached me and popped the question can we hang out? My answer was No. Really? Can we hang out so that you can take me to a joint or a restaurant where I’ll just eat and few minutes later I’m in the toilet. No! I hated that. You want to take me out then take me shopping. It must not be something expensive. A scarf , a wristwatch or a slipper would do because its something that when i see it or wear it ill always think of you.
He got a little hurt by my answer but didn’t stop there. He got my contact number and kept calling to explain himself; for every time he called i told him i didn’t know him and that he should back off and stop pestering me. Deep inside i knew that for every time he called he was keen on dating me.
Finally i gave in after giving him a hard time and since then its been a roller coaster of laughter, friendship and fun. He is my best friend, my husband and the father of our children.

    4) Love that Changes all

His close friend was also my close friend and she introduced us. We got talking and i wasn’t forthcoming because i wasn’t really ready for a relationship and he hadn’t been in a serious relationship too. Our conversations were mostly brief and hardly intense, mostly because of my nonchalant attitude. I barely asked about his welfare and all. It was mostly the normal basics of ‘Hello’ ‘How are you doing?’ Hope you’re good…I live here…and so on. I gave the cold attitude so he was giving up on me but somehow he continued. And this went on for a year without seeing each other.
In February a year later, we saw each other finally for the first time. We fixed a date and met. I was glad he came but the minute he stood before me; Boom!! I wanted to end the relationship. I didn’t want to continue at all. We both sat down and got talking and gisting and he asked the question “Would you date me seriously, and give us a chance?” This was an opportunity to say No and end everything but i felt bad, i didn’t want to hurt him so i ended up saying “Yes” with the hope that it would die off and also praying that he would get tired and just end it. But the opposite happened, we kept dating. We couldn’t bail on each other because over time we became passionate friends. We kept growing. “If you ask me when i started loving him” i never have an answer to that because it just happened. I don’t know how, or when it happened. But somehow i knew it on that day we saw; We defined the relationship and it increased the respect i had for him. Our knowing each other was a blessing to me because it made me appreciate every little thing about him. Its been five years and we’ve been strong. He’s always loved me from the beginning and now i can proudly say i love him much more. He is my treasure.

Boss and New employee Love story

When it was valentine everyone was singing the praises of their partner so what do they want the unmarried ones like us to do? I asked my self smiling but i knew our time would come. Anyways, that day i was singing the praises of God instead, and imagining how it would feel when i finally meet that special person i can finally call my own.
Its past valentine now but i keep asking myself how did it all start? At what point did their relationship blossom? Did it happen all at once or did it come gradually? Since then I’ve been curious as to how their love story began. How two lives get intertwined and blossom into something deep and strong?

I read a story back in history that captivated my mind and melted my heart

She had lost everything she ever knew or had or cared for. She had no reason to live except for the person behind her. The older woman was more than her family. She was the only friend she had. She was her everything. Even now as she looked at her face, all she could see was self pity, hopelessness, despair and loneliness. She frowned but nodded. She understood everything. She had her own share of that pain and suffering. Now they had finally reached their destination; a foreign land where they would forever be strangers. Having nothing of their own except each other and the blanket of poverty and helplessness.

When morning came she knew she had to look for work or they would definitely die of hunger and starvation. “Let me go out into the fields and pick up any grain left behind by anyone who is kind enough to let me do it” she asked the woman who had become her mother and friend.
“Alright my daughter, go ahead” She agreed immediately.
And it happened she found herself working in a field that belonged to a relative. While she was there that was when he came in.

He arrived looking like the universe all in one. She couldn’t stop staring at him. One could see that he was a wealthy and influential man, yet a good one too. He greeted the others and then he noticed a woman among them that he didn’t know
” Who is that young woman over there? Who does she belong to?” He asked his foreman pointing towards her direction.
“She is the young woman who just came back with her mother”. He replied. “She asked me this morning if she could gather grains and she has been hard at work ever since except for a few minutes rest” He added.
He nodded and went over to her and said “Listen, stay here with us, don’t go to any other fields. Stay behind the young women working in my field. See what part they are harvesting and follow them. I have warned the young men not to treat you roughly and when you are thirsty help yourself to water”.
Immediately she fell and thanked him warmly “What have i done to deserve such kindness? I’m only a foreigner”.
“Yes I know” he told her “but i also know about everything you’ve done for your family. May God reward you fully for what you’ve done”.
“I hope i continue to please you sir” She replied as tears rolled down her eyes “you’ve comforted me by speaking kindly to me even though i am not one of your workers” she added.

As if that was not enough at mealtime he called her and gave her enough food to eat. She ate all she wanted to eat and still had some left over. Her stomach no longer sang songs of hunger. When she went back to work he also ordered his men to let her work without stopping her and never give her a tough time. That was when he began to hold a special place in her heart.
She carried all she gathered and showed her mother. “Where did you gather all this today? Her mother asked. Where did you work? May the lord bless the person ho helped you”. She prayed. So she told him about the man who helped her. “May the lord bless him” She exclaimed. “He is showing his kindness to us. That man is a close relative and one of our family redeemer” She informed.
“Really? Wow! And mother what’s more is that he even told me to come back and stay with his harvesters until the entire harvest is completed”. She said smiling sheepishly.
“Good, do as he says my daughter. Stay with his young women right through the harvest. You might be harassed in other fields but you’ll be safe with him”. The older woman said

With that she continued working at his field and enjoyed every chance she got to be with him. Right after that season. He came to her rescue, purchased the property that belonged to her family and married her. For she was a widow and at that time a widow could not inherit the property of her deceased husband. She was so happy.

He came stroding in like a king. He was truly her knight in shinning armor. She thought she was destined for a helpless and bleak future but he came and brought hope and beauty to her life. That was love in its true form. It was all at once. When he made her feel loved and safe that was when she knew there was only him for her. He saved her. He redeemed her.
That was the true definition of his love.

  • MOVIE NIGHT

He walked slowly towards her and grinned. He had her now since they were the only two people inside the elevator. He walked slowly towards her and at the same time she took a step back, fear written all over her. He swiftly pushed her to a corner and tried clasping her hands together but she was smart, she gave him a hard kick that sent him flying back, she immediately brought out her phone to call the police but he dragged it from her and smashed it on the ground, dipped his hand into his side pocket and brought out a nail cutter, held her hand upward and tried using it on her but instead she bit his arms and he wined in pain. Why won’t this girl just let him do what he came for? And why did she have to make it difficult? He muttered to himself, but he knew why. No girl would see a total stranger in a mask attack her and won’t fight back. So what was he to do now? A thought came to his mind. He let go of her and she tried stopping the elevator but all to no avail. He swiftly turned her back to him, removed her hood and threw it on the ground, then dug his fingers into her hair and pulled; this time she gave an ear breaking scream that almost brought her to tears and he was sorry but he had no time to worry about her so he brought his hand to his face and found strands of her black hair stuck on his finger. He smiled mischievously and brought out a tiny plastic bag from his back pocket, put the hair inside it, zipped it and put it right back into his pocket. He pushed her to the wall and the elevator opened immediately and he walked out, then stopped dead on this track as if forgetting something, he brought out a live of paper, scribbled something on it, threw it at her and left.

She stood up after much effort, took the paper he threw at her and opened it. What she saw shocked her “I’m sorry”

‘Who was this man?’ She asked silently in utter amazement. She didn’t think he wanted to hurt her, and he didn’t steal from her. He only tried cutting her nails and when he didn’t succeed he tried her hair and succeed. What he wanted or his motive behind it remained a mystery to her.

When he reached the roof, he held the rope and jumped all the way down. A car drove in front of him and he got in the front sit

“This is it. I only got her hair, that should be more than enough”. He handed the plastic bag to the man at the back seat.

“Good job. What is left is the DNA test”

“That has nothing to do with me. I hope i never see you again. This mission is over” he opened the door and stepped out. And the car drove off.

    Then Silence…

‘Shit!’ I said out loud. Really? Why did this have to stop now. Oh i know, i stood up and went to the drawer, opened it and searched to find it but there was none. ‘What the hell! I kept pacing and was so exasperated. I glanced at the clock and it was ten forty five pm and that was so late which was no consolation at all. After a minute of pacing back and front in anger i couldn’t handle it any longer. I went into the living room quietly and grabbed the gate key, wore a jacket over my cami, opened the door and left.

Opening the gate was the problem. What if i get caught? What would i say? That i was going to buy the completion of a movie i thought i had but didn’t at almost midnight. What normal person would accept that. I had no gut to lie and no strength to crack my brains for an excuse to give. I held the padlock tightly and swiped the key slowly to avoid making a noise that would wake mum and unlocked the gate. Then i slowly removed the bolt, walked out and jammed the gate calmly. I ran to the junction, boarded a taxi, dropped off, walked to the store, made my purchase and went back home.
I was on the couch with a handful of peanuts, a cold drink beside me and a forty two inches before me in twenty five minutes. I sighed in relief and tried catching my breath and when i relaxed, i sat comfortably, opened my drink, threw the peanut into my mouth and hit the play button.

If you think this is crazy then you’re yet to see more adventure people have taken just to watch a movie.
At that moment i knew the risk of walking out alone at that tome of the night but i choose to take the risk. why? The answer to that is no fun in watching a movie without knowing the ending or watching an incomplete movie. Its different if its a TV series at least i know it would be shown in episodes till the ending. So its either a complete film or TV series but never an incomplete film
The moment i hit the play button and begin watching, getting the drama, the emotions, the visuals, and the story out of my head becomes very difficult. Worst of all, not getting a closure drives me crazy.

Most times we get so busy with the hustle that we forget to give ourselves a Friday or Saturday night break to watch a movie. Forget the worries of the day and the fear of tomorrow and sit on the couch with a bag of popcorn and watch a movie. Its okay to have a bad day but remember to create the good days. The memory of each day would always be pleasing.

PS – the movie that made me go out late at night was ‘K2’ a Ji Chang wook series. Don’t be shocked. Yeah! I’m a Korean movie fan.

Also there are two movies that have made me cry ‘The fault in our stars’ a Shainelene Woodly film and ‘Kaho na ho’ an Indian film by Sharuh khan.

So tell me, what’s that movie that made you shed a lot of tears. Share them with me by leaving a comment. Like, share and follow. God bless.
