  • Can you see the light afterward? The rebirth.

    It feels like I just came down from a tall mountain.

    Whoop!! It’s so good to be back guys!!

    What did I miss? My ears are waiting to hear all the juicy stuff that happened while I was gone.

    In the meantime I have a feeling you have a million things to say about the pandemic and even when you don’t plan to, it still jumps right into every conversation one way or another.

    It’s okay. We can’t really turn a blind eye to what is happening around us but there is something you can do for me…

    That is where my comeback word is for you.

    Take a minute away from the chaos and take a glance at the aftermath.
    Can you do that quickly?

    When all is done and over with when the lockdown has been lifted up when the infected have recovered and when there’s an end to the isolation. When the doors are open and everyone is free to step out for the first time in a long time, what do you see?

    REBIRTH

    The light that comes with this new beginning. You’ll meet a world that has gone through fire and survived. You’ll be blown by the wind of humanity by a world that has held the hands of others. You’ll be shocked at how massive the changes awaiting us would be. Because now…now the world and everyone standing at the forefront of power knows that what we need are people who can stand in this world in all seasons.

    The world would be in need of problem solvers, thinkers, those blessed with the art and skill to position themselves in a place of economic solutions.

    This reshuffled world would be the rebirth the common man who has nothing but skills and zeal would be blessed with.

    Those who can bring order and practicality to the world are what the leaders would look for.

    When that time comes where would you be?

    Would you still be hiding in a corner afraid to show what you’ve got, or would you be too comfortable to face the rough road to success awaiting you? It’s okay if that’s what you want.
    But for me here are three things ill do; befriend time, prepare and reposition.

    Time – Time is a rare blessing now. Befriend it. Time for your person. For you alone. For your soul. To look deep into those dreams that lay dead. To heal whatever part of you that has been broken or weak and to continue whatever it is you couldn’t finish in the past because you didn’t have time. The time is now.

    Prepare – Drown in the place of preparation. Remember those plans you had, those ideas that came up. Start working on them. Sharpen your sword. Do more of what you’re doing, learn more skills if it would make you the best at what you’re doing. Prepare now.

    Reposition – Reposition yourself to a place of Advantage. If you are disadvantaged at your present position then make a decision that would bring you to the open. Come out of your shell. Start doing what you’re doing. Spread your art, business, brand, God’s word. Make noise if it would make you noticed. Don’t stay hidden. This rebirth would color those who have repositioned themselves properly.

    See the light and do well to start now.

    Drop a comment. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this, plus everything going on here that i may have missed

    All my Love.

    Stay safe.

  • 5 Travel Must have’s necessary for that trip.

    During the course of my trip I got a lot of questions about my travel necessities. And I figured out why. Nobody wants to embark on a journey missing the necessary things and end up regretting later why they didn’t have those things. These things are so little yet so important if you are going to be traveling on the roads of Nigeria. Especially during this festive season. So here are my four travel necessities for that trip:

    1. Earphone/earpiece

    You don’t want to forget this item. The journey is long. It would get boring. Everyone may end up sleeping around you. What would you be doing awake. Music or movie? And you can’t listen to any without a good earphone. So this is a must have on any type of journey at all.

    2. A Book.

    While some may not see the need for this. This is my favorite travel item. I can’t go anywhere, even if its just a mile away, without a book. If it’s a long journey like the one I just had then I go with two books. A novel and a business/Christian book. While music is good for the soul. A great book is great for the mind. And sometimes earphones can cause head ache, and when it happens like that a book is your saving grace. It helps you feel good about yourself. It gives you that feeling that you’re gaining knowledge and not wasting the time just staring at the driver or the road.

    3. Purging Medication

    This is the most important item on the list, yet often ignored until the storm begins and you regret why you didn’t take this drug. Once upon a time I ignored this meds and my fate was worse. My stomach raged war for more than 12 hours in a two days journey. That day was the most embarrassing day of my life. Oh God! (laughs) You don’t want to hear the full story. Just know that it was bad!!!! Very bad!!!! I don’t know what works for those outside Nigeria but in Nigeria its “Flagyl” that does the magic. So guys, before you pack your cloths, put your purge medication inside your bag. Because when it starts, God will not save you, only that tablet would.

    4. Tote bag

    This is for both ladies and gents. You don’t want to pack your shoes, toiletries, cosmetics and deodorants together with your cloths. That’s not right. Your tote bag is best for these items, to give you easy access and to avoid them ruining your cloths. I have the worst tote bag ever, because my things keep falling off (laughs) but it works for me because it carries my non-wear necessities remarkably well. So get yourself a good tote bag and enjoy the ride.

    Some of you are still debating if you should embark on that trip. I’ll tell you take it. If you don’t have all the time, take it once a year. Its an opportunity to unwind, create new memories, engage in conversations, see new places and gives you the best time and moment for yourself

    I hope you found this post useful. Tell me about your travel must have’s that is not included in the list in the comment section below.

  • For Uncle Paul, its all good.

    Last night I heard series of bad news. It felt like it was planned. I was so hurt and angry that I didn’t know what to do. I kept pacing back and forth for what felt like hours. I didn’t feel better. I screamed music, then I stopped. Almost every song on my playlist was either a worship song, slow song or rap. But I Wanted disco, or hip hop or something that wouldn’t be painfully slow and annoying. But that didn’t help at all. Then the TV started playing this Hindi song ( you know how their song can be so emotional and slow) and I almost broke the TV.

    My friend asked if she could talk to me but I refused because in the heat of the moment I may just transfer all the aggression on her and still feel worse than before. Praying did not come to my mind. Taking a walk was an option but I dreaded it because my feet felt numb. Thought of reading the bible but I didn’t know where to read.

    After all my failed attempt to make myself feel better and to be positive about the whole issue, I simply sat down.

    And I asked my self what people do to make themselves feel better after hearing a sad, disappointing or heart wrenching news?

    My mind began moving in 360° and that was when the headache started. I slept with that headache and woke up worse; woke up with dizzy eyes, bad headache and a fowl mood.

    I began studying the scripture this morning and that was when the answer came. After reading

    2 Corinthians 6:8-10 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
    As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
    As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

    A question popped into my head;

    What would Paul do? If Paul was in the same situation What would he do ?

    And I thought “Uncle Paul would probably walk into his room and study Gods word. When he’s done he would pray, go out and speak to the churches encouraging them and admonishing them and afterwards he’ll come back and eat his meal together with his fellow brethren and after eating he’ll then seek the counsel of the elders and find a solution to the problem”.

    Oh God!! I burst out laughing after playing out the scene in my head and answering the question.

    Here I was worrying and beating my self up while uncle Paul would move on like nothing happened because of his trust in God.

    Now I’m sitting down writing this, wanting to be that strong, to be so unbroken and so unshaken by worldly news and situations. To be so strong and rooted in God that nothing else would bring me down.

    I hope you want that too for yourself.

    This post was unplanned but I’m so happy that I’m blessed with this platform where I can express my vulnerability and still find solace because of all the amazing readers always reading and always relating to our story. I love you all. And Gods got us.

    Tell me how this week started for you and I still need those tips on how you help yourself get better after hearing a bad news in the comment section below.
