  • 10 Bad Days Scriptures to Get You Through Bad Days

Are you having bad days? I bet you are or once were. Truth is, I also have bad days. Who doesn’t?

Sometimes we worry, sometimes the office gets toxic, sometimes parenting becomes stressful, sometimes working becomes draining, sometimes rest seems far fetched, sometimes we are faced with stumbling blocks, sometimes memories of that trauma haunts you again, sometimes something triggers the pain of losing that person, and sometimes even adulthood alone stresses the hell out of you.

And the crazy part is that, on those bad days we lash out, transfer aggression, become quiet, overthink, talk about it, call a therapist, get treated but we seldom seek Gods words.

His scriptures have been designed to be there for us on those bad days when all we can see is the evil and ugly. On those dark days his words have been written to lighten our lives. On those bad days his words are there to reassure us that everything is not over.

That there is more. That its okay to have bad days but its not the end. That bad days and challenges are part of the ball game but good days and winning is guaranted.

His words have brought comfort and peace to me and so many other people round the globe.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
    Hebrews 4:12

So when you do go through those unexpected bad days, remember his word, lean on these scriptures, meditate on them and let the life in these words bring you solace. They’ve been my guide & source of peace on those troubling days and I believe that its going to be the same for you.

  • 3 April Fools Day Stories that will Shock You

Its April! Yayyy!!! Welcome to the month of April, a month blessed with juicy April fools day stories because it’s April fools day. Yippee!!!

    April fools day stories

Okay please don’t fool me today I beg you.

Waking up this morning made me happy because today is my friends birthday (Happy birthday Aida) and couldn’t help but remember that today is also April fools day which comes with lots of April fools day stories.

I don’t know who invented this April fools day but I’m eternally grateful to that person for setting out a day where we get to fool or prank people to our hearts content and enjoy their reaction hahahaha

Thinking of April fools day made me remember how someone fooled me and the entire class in Secondary school.

I think it was in SS2 or SS3 during night prep. We were standing and gisting at the corridor when we were supposed to be reading inside the classroom when immediately someone shouted “Principal is coming.”

The person shouting was also running like his life depended on it.

My God! The entire corridor was in chaos. Everyone was running. I think I practically flew because I was not about to receive another flogging that night. How I reached my sit still baffles me. In twenty seconds the entire corridor was empty, my class was as silent as a grave yard. The only thing you could hear was our panting and heavy breathing.

Everyone immediately brought out their books and pretended to be reading. We were so focused that we visualized the Principal starring at us with his serious glasses and fat cane. Only for us to hear a loud scream, “April fools day!”

    No one still believed.

“April fools day!” He shouted again laughing out loud.

That was when we knew we were fooled. hahaha I was shocked. I mean who wouldn’t be? I and the others felt like killing him. It was a good prank but it was painful.

The fear, sweat and shock was such a painful experience. At the end of the day we all had a good laugh and I never forgot that day.

                                ***

Did you enjoy that story? Reminiscing on this story made me laugh a lot and I wondered how may April fools day stories are out there. So i asked a few of my friends to share their April fools day stories with us for the purpose of spreading laughter and good memories.

Here are 3 April fools day stories that would shock you

I told a friend once that I was very sick and I was hospitalized. That was on a 31th of March.
Then on 1st April, I switched off my phone because of a low battery forgetting my prank. My friend had to call my mom asking her “How is your son?” My mom was like “He is fine.” She said he told me that he was seriously sick and hospitalized. My mom was shocked, “How can my only son be hospitalized?” That was exactly how April fool’s day went bad.

    Prince.

I was fooled by someone a long time ago. Someone sent me a long message, I opened it to read and the content was painful. She said I told lies and sprayed ugly rumors about her in school to everyone. My heart was beating fast trying to recall what I ever did and trying to figure out who would accuse me of such bad deed. I was heart broken to hear such lies and very upset that I was ready to call her, until I read the final line of the text message which said “yo! You fell for it. Happy new month.”
Mehnnnn…. It was a big relief. But since that day I found it difficult to ever believe anything anyone said to me on 1st April (April fools day) no matter how serious that thing is. hahaha

My Dad always warned me to stop pranking people because everyone knew i pranked people a lot. So on April fools day, five years ago, We were eating at the dinning while I was intentionally looking for how to prank them. While we were eating, they asked me to get cold water from the freezer. That was when I had an idea. As I was bringing out the water, I then pretended to touch the naked iron and began vibrating and shaking like someone that had been shocked by electricity. Everyone froze in shock. My dad raised his hand to his chest and became still. I was still shaking when I looked at my dad and immediately became scared for him. I stopped shaking and confessed to everyone that I was joking. Hey! My Elder sister walked up and slapped me across the face and warned me never to do such again. They rushed and got my Dad’s medication to calm him down. Damn! I felt cold that day. Afterwards, I promised never to fool anyone again. I learned my lesson. smiles

  • 3 Dire Consequences Of Ignoring The Holy Spirit

The consequences of ignoring the holy spirit are dire and detrimental to your existence as a beautiful lady & sophisticated gentleman.

    Ignoring the holy spirit

The past couple of weeks have been very trying and challenging in almost every area of my life aside from one. winks First my mom was ill, something so little that we even took lightly ended up been so drastic, and would have been destructive if I had kept ignoring the holy spirit. Now as a family we are as fresh as a newly baked cake and equally happy.

I’ve seen myself make spur of the moment decisions this week. You know those kind of unexpected events that drive you to make decisions you never saw coming. This particular one made me withdrawn, and dampened my resolve to an extent that I had no idea on the way forward, like a plot twist, the only way forward was scary and daunting until I heard his voice.

“Make that call.” I heard and ignored.

While focusing on my work, I heard his voice again “this is the best time to make that call Chika.” At this point I checked the time and behold, I understood why the holy spirit was leading me to do that.

Quickly I made the call and after I did, the restlessness I felt was gone. I was no longer weak. I had a new understanding and revelation on what that situation was about. The fulfillment I got was next to none and I had an overwhelming peace wash over me. That is what obeying the holy spirit does.

I’m sure you’ve all read this scripture but I’ll still share it. John 14:26

“The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you.”
    John 14:26 MSG

The holy spirit makes everything plain. He simplifies the confusing. He eases pain, and comforts the burdened. Ignoring his leading comes at a cost. If I had kept ignoring the holy spirit’s leading, I wonder what health condition my mom would have been now. If I had not listened and allowed myself get distracted, I would have missed something that was his plan for me all along.

Herald shared a live story of how the holy spirit led him away from the woman he wanted to get married to, that had and was still in bed with every other man in school then, unknown to him.

And I still wonder the consequences he would have faced if he didn’t receive clarity from God as an answer to his prayers.

The main reason why you are ignoring the holy spirit is because you are validating why the holy spirit should do what you want instead of listening to what he wants for you.

“It is not your place to direct the holy spirit. It is your only place to listen and obey his words.”

And mehn! Obedience is hard when the picture you’ve created seems right. Try throwing it aside and open your eyes to see the perfect picture he has for you.

What Are The 3 Dire Consequences Of Ignoring The Holy Spirit?

    1. Destruction

You destroy your life by ignoring the holy spirit. The funny thing about destruction is that, it doesn’t drop like a bomb. No. It creeps in like a termite and explode in your face. When he says do this this way and you do it your own way, gradually you see everything go sour.

All the efforts, time, money, attention etc all gone. The perfect plans he has for you hangs in the balance because you’re treading on a different path.

    1. Spiritual coldness

The minute you start ignoring the holy spirit your spiritual life begins to get cold. What is the use of taking his time to tell you things when you won’t listen? The holy spirit craves attention, enjoys friendship and rejoices with a listening ear. And when he no longer gets that, he becomes silent. He doesn’t leave. No.

He stays quiet waiting for you to call on him. To invite him. To embrace his wisdom & friendship. He stays there because he has chosen to be your friend for life, all that’s left is for you to do the same.

    1. Regret

Once you start saying “if I had known…,” “I wish I followed my mind,” “why didn’t I listen to…,” that is clearly a consequence of ignoring the holy spirit; Regret. The feeling of regret is a subtle feeling that speaks massively to the mind and negatively as well. It ruins your mental balance and drives you insane.

You regret why you didn’t listen. You count your loses and blame yourself for being stupid and foolish. You start feeling guilty for been the reason why everything is a mess. Depression steps in, your mental balance worsens and slowly your life fades.

These consequences are real and I would be lying if I said I haven’t experienced all. How I found my faith back, retreated from been a depressed & bitter person and began living a life void of regret is still a miracle. One I am eternally grateful for.

I truly hope that going forward, the words written here would push you to prioritize his leading, direction and his voice when he speaks. Even in the little things. Cuz ignoring the holy spirit comes at a huge price.

Say this prayer with me quickly – “Dear God, let my wants and desires for my life be aligned with your plans and desires for my life. Amen.
